This is an HD video showing Dr. Nick Calcaterra perform a laser frenectomy in our office in Orange. Specifically, this is a maxillary midline lip frenectomy – meaning that we removed the frenum that attached between the two top front teeth. Our patient was 17 years old at the time the procedure was performed.

A couple of notes about the video:
- We condensed the procedure into less than 5 minutes. In reality, it is a very quick and painless procedure. Not including the time it takes to get numb, most frenetomies last no more than five minutes.
- As expected, our patient experienced no pain during the procedure.
- In her post-operative interview, she mentioned how easy it was, only needing a Motrin/Tylenol for a couple of days.
Overall, most patients state that their frenectomy procedure was easier than getting a filling placed.
